Sunscreen is a barrier that protects the skin from absorbing ultraviolet (UV) rays. There are two kinds of UV rays that can affect the skin:
1- UVA rays can lead to skin aging and wrinkles.
2- UVB rays are responsible for causing sunburn that may cause permanent damage over time. UVB may also cause skin cancer.
Sun protection factor (SPF) is a measure of the sunscreen’s ability to protect your skin from UVB rays.
Our sunscreen has SPF 50 and is suitable for all skin types.
A generous amount of sunscreen must be applied 15 minutes before sun exposure even in the winter months and on cloudy days because whenever the body is exposed to light from the sun, it is susceptible to the damage from UV rays.
Sunscreen should be reapplied every few hours especially if you’re swimming or sweating.
Sunscreen must be applied not just to the face but to all body areas exposed to the sun including neck, décolletage area, arms, hands and legs.
Even though sunscreen provides protection from the harmful UV rays, it’s still important to limit sun exposure especially during the hours of intense sun rays which is usually from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m.
