It’s much safer and clean to use the wooden honey dippers for honey.
The grooves allow the honey to be pulled in while they are horizontal, but flow out when they are vertical. Also being wood, it is more porous and will take on the flavor of the honey instead of imparting its own flavor to the honey.
It's not recommended to use metal spoons with honey
Metal may damage and reduce the healing properties of honey especially if left in touch for a long period.
